My Daughter's 31st Birthday!

Hard to believe. My first born is 31! Yes I am getting old! But it is so nice to see her grow up with her own family. We went out to dinner tonight and had a good time.

Today was humid here, it rained last night and there were white clouds in the sky.

I tried to call my dad today numerous times, but he was always somewhere else. I started thinking about whether or not I should go visit in WA, but I really can't! I am the only one who is a blood relative of my mom's! Even if the hubby was here and I was in WA, he wouldn't be able to do a thing! Then there is her sister, she has no kids. And my brother,...well he's never around to talk to.

Time to go to bed again...the old refrain - will knit tomorrow!

Time for Bed Again!

I swear that is the refrain for every weekday! I just start to relax and get involved in other things and it is time for bed.

I finally got this machine to work the way it should after all of the Norton updates! I am deathly afraid to put any Microsoft updates on. It always crashes! This Vista is for the the birds. They need to make it more stable or something.

I got my yarn today! It is so pretty! Now to pick the perfect project. I didn't knit tonight, as usual, but tomorrow I will, maybe just one row tonight??

Here is the other item! And my grandkids, too!

Today is my last day of freedom for a while!

These 3 photos are the items that I purchased at Alamitos Bay Knitting Co. Couldn't put the pattern books in Ravelry yet - there is another photo - I can't seem to get all 3 photos on at once!!!

Wow, I can sure get used to being off for 5 days straight and not having to take any vacation days! I always mean to get a lot done, but I think I am a reader, so that takes up a lot of my time! Also, I hardly ever get on the computer during the week, so I am just crazy when I do get on it!

First day, I had lunch with a friend from where I used to work. She got on Ravelry and really likes it! I always have a wonderful time talking about life, etc. with her.

Second day, I can't remember!! Whoops! Alzheimer's!

3rd day was the 4th of July and we went to Studio City to see what was going on there. Cute streets and sets. We met a nice family from Glendora when we were eating.

Yesterday we went to Long Beach Acquarium. Wonderful cool air. Spent the morning looking at the fish with our daughter and her family! Then we all had a picnic lunch outside. Afterward we went to Alamitos Bay Yarn Co. Beautiful store! Nice that they have "store copies" for their books, then the customers get a new copy, untouched! See pics below.

So, today I am wrapping things up and trying to get back in the work mode after I went to church. Haven't been there in a few weeks. Talked to my dad today too. He's been moved. Thank goodness for my cousin up north, wouldn't know where to find him, if she wasn't in the know.

Been doing crosswords lately, my mom and I like to talk about them. It seems I only can find the time to do them when I am not working. I tried to do some knitting, but didn't accomplish much. Need to get something done soon! Would like to try something else too!

Well here I am!

Well, today I am on my second day off of the five days I have off together! I didn't think that I would like to have RDO's, but I do. Time to feel as though I am not working at all! Nice to have all of this time! When the hubby is working, not at home, then I can relax and do anything! A little scary though, I seem to spend money! I went on Ebay today, Ravelry, a few yarn websites! Egads!

It is hot here in sunny So Cal. It's supposed to get to 100 degrees today.

I have all of my yarn that I own on Ravelry. Wonderful site! I can't get enough of it! So much to look at. You can see all of my projects that I am working on in the wonderful world of yarn. In this blog, I plan to show off my quilting. I don't know if there is a quilting site that is similar to Ravelry.

My husband got a Kindle for his birthday. I use it the most! So cool. Any thoughts on how best to use it or cool things to download?

Later!
